The current Door County Medical Center (DCMC) Rehab Services facility in Sturgeon Bay is relocating in late April to its newly constructed facility - across the parking lot - still located within the Cherry Point Mall. Relocation of Rehab Services will take place on April 25 & 26 and will reopen to the public Monday, April 29 at 12:30 pm. An open house will be held on May 22 from 3-6 pm for the community to meet staff and tour the new facilities.
With the growing demand and need for rehabilitation services for people of all ages within our service area, this new facility will allow our rehab specialists the opportunity to use new, state-of-the-art equipment, and will give our patients more privacy in more than twice the square footage of the current facility. The extra space will not only increase the quality of care we provide to our patients, but will create a fresh and aesthetically pleasing environment in which to recuperate.
“We are very excited about the opportunities this new space will provide to our patients and rehab team. The additional space will allow comprehensive service offerings, expansion of outreach, and a new well-deserved home for our very talented rehab staff,” says rehab services director, Deb Whitelaw-Gorski.
In addition, DCMC’s Patient Financial Services will be moving to new space within the mall in early May. The Patient Financial Services Cherry Point Mall location will be closed to the public May 2 & 3 but will be able to assist customers from the main hospital location and will still be taking patient calls.
“Our Patient Financial Services team has a passion for assisting patients with navigating insurance and connecting our patient’s to available resources. Our team is here to help you with questions regarding patient billing, price estimates, insurance, our community care program and other programs within the hospital and community,” according to manager, Tiffany Huston. “We also have Certified Application Counselors for the insurance marketplace to assist with signing our patients up for insurance at no cost to you.”
These upgraded facilities are just one way DCMC continually reinvests itself back into the community through innovation, growth and meeting the needs of our patients.
