Since Fall 2019, Robyn Weilbaker, family nurse practitioner, serves as a full-time provider at Door County Medical Center’s (DCMC) Washington Island Clinic, alternating weeks with Dr. Beth Lux. Robyn’s role at the clinic is to help keep the community healthy with regular well visits and screening, visits for acute illnesses, and injuries like sprains and lacerations.
Robyn brings experience in emergency medicine including Neonatal & Coronary Intensive Care to the position. Her most recent role was as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Emergency Medicine of Indiana in Fort Wayne Indiana.
“We are pleased to welcome Robyn Weilbaker as provider at our Washington Island Clinic,” says Dr. James Heise, Medical Director for DCMC. “She brings a strong background that will be an asset to the community.”
Robyn received her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in 2008 at Purdue University Calumet in Hammond, Indiana. She has relocated to the island with her husband and two young boys. She says her family is adjusting well to island life and her children are looking forward to large volumes of snow, which they have never experienced.
“We love this community, and admire the beauty around us,” says Robyn. “Everyone has been quite welcoming and helpful. I have met some amazing people, both in the clinic and out and about. I have plenty of experienced islanders helping us to get situated and prepared for winter and knowing who to call if needed, as well as some families rather new to the island helping to show us the ropes. We are very happy to be here.”
