Door County Medical Center (DCMC) is pleased to announce the latest addition to the Behavioral Health team, Licensed Clinical Social Worker & Substance Abuse Counselor (LCSW, SAC-IT), Allycia Bretl.
Allycia will provide behavioral health services at the Sturgeon Bay campus of DCMC.
Allycia was born and raised in Door County (she is a Southern Door graduate) and completed her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Chemistry at Ripon College before pursuing her Master’s of Clinical Social Work at the University of Maryland-Baltimore. This included two internships specializing in clinical behavioral health; one found her working in an outpatient clinic for a low income population, and another involved her practicing for the Department of Defense, at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
After graduation, she moved back to the Midwest and worked in a residential treatment center where she worked with dual-diagnosis clients, with a trauma-informed approach.
“I was born and raised in Door County; helping those in a community that I grew up in and that gave me so much, means the world to me,” Allycia says.
Some of Allycia’s favorite pastimes include spending time with her rescue puppy, traveling, experiencing new foods and cultures, reading, watching movies and spending time with her family and friends.
To schedule an appointment with Allycia, call the Door County Medical Center Sturgeon Bay Clinic at (920) 746-0510.
