Werner is challenging the community to match his $1 million dollar gift over the next five years. In order for this $1 million dollar gift from Werner Krause to reach the campaign fund, an additional $1 million dollars must be raised before the end of 2028.

Suicide Prevention Month

September is Suicide Prevention Month, a time to bring to light some of the dark issues facing our society. Suicide is a serious public health problem that can have long-lasting effects on individuals, families, and communities. Calling or texting 988—the National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline—will connect anyone experiencing thoughts of suicide, a mental health concern, substance use issue, or any other emotional distress to a trained crisis counselor.

Door County House & Garden Walk Celebrates 62 Years

The Door County Medical Center Auxiliary will host its 62nd annual House & Garden Walk on Tuesday, July 25th, 2023 from 9am to 5pm. This long-standing event features volunteer-led tours of some of Door County's most spectacular, unique and historic homes and gardens and is open to the public.

On the afternoon of Monday, March 27, 2023, Door County Medical Center (DCMC) welcomes the first rehab patients to the new Sister Bay Clinic. The following Monday, April 3, 2023, the new facility will begin seeing all patients, marking both the first day of comprehensive operations and services at the new Sister Bay location.

Door County Medical Center Partners with Integrated Telehealth Partners to Offer Telehealth Services in Behavioral Healthcare

Patients of Door County Medical Center (DCMC) can now receive behavioral healthcare closer to home through a partnership with Psychiatric Medical Care's telehealth division, Integrated Telehealth Partners (ITP). This new partnership will include outpatient services for referrals made by the DCMC staff and consultancy services for the DCMC emergency department.

“Access to behavioral services in our community is a significant issue,” Door County Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Coordinator, Barb Johnson-Giese, said. An unfortunate reality for medical professionals in the Door County community and beyond is that physicians are increasingly pressured to diagnose and treat mental and behavioral health problems that they are often not adequately trained to diagnose or treat.
