Celebrating Holly Ullman Herlache’s 40 years of Patient Care

Holly Ullman Herlache's contributions to Door County Medical Center (DCMC) and the patients she served over her 40 year career can hardly be quantified. She served in every facility (with the exception of the Dental Clinic) and almost every patient care department at DCMC, working with almost all of the providers and staff and touching the lives of thousands of patients.

2023 Jody Boes Scholarship: Door County Medical Center Announces Three Recipients

Door County Medical Center (DCMC) is proud to announce it has named three recipients for the 2023 Jody Boes Scholarship. The Jody Boes Scholarship was established with the goal of providing financial support to nurses pursuing advanced degrees at either the Masters or Doctorate level. This year, each recipient will receive $10,000 to put toward their education.

DCMC’s SPARC Program: Eliminating Barriers to an Incredible Healthcare Career

Even before the COVID-19 pandemic began at the tail end of 2019, the US healthcare system was already facing a serious problem—a critical shortage of nursing staff. In order to tackle this issue and eliminate barriers head on, Door County Medical Center has created SPARC—an on-the-job healthcare training program designed to assist future CNAs, CMAs, LPNs and RNs.

Jody Boes Scholarship 2023: Supporting Continuing Education for DCMC’s Nurses

In 2017, Bill and Pam Welter established the Jody Boes Scholarship in partnership with Jody Boes, former Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Administration at Door County Medical Center. Designed to financially support nurses pursuing an advanced degree at either the master’s or doctorate level, the Jody Boes Scholarship has previously provided scholarship recipients with $2,500 to apply toward their tuition. This year, the monetary award scholarship recipients will receive has been raised to $10,000.

National Nurses Week 2020

This year, as with every year since 1990, the American Nurses Association, hospitals and communities across the country recognize Florence Nightingale’s legacy and the dedication and hard work of nurses around the world with National Nurses Week, which starts on May 6th and ends on May 12th—Florence Nightingale’s birthday.
