Effective January 1, 2025, Door County Medical Center's Dental Clinic has officially become N.E.W. Community Clinic Door County Dental. Brian Stephens, CEO of DCMC, and Kim Franzen, CEO of N.E.W. Community Clinic, recently signed the contract finalizing this transition. Former patients of the DCMC Dental Clinic will seamlessly join the N.E.W. Community Clinic patient roster, with services continuing at the current Sturgeon Bay dental clinic location. The existing staff will remain in place and have been working collaboratively with N.E.W. Community Clinic to ensure a smooth transition.
As a Federally Qualified Health Center, N.E.W. Community Clinic has greater access to federal and state funding sources. This designation will create opportunities to expand services and have a wider-reaching impact within the region, particularly benefiting underinsured and uninsured residents.
