Why DCMC Supports Community Benefits
“Community benefits are programs or activities that provide treatment or promote health and healing as a response to identified community needs and meet DCMC’s community benefit objectives,” the Director of Business Development, Kevin Grohskopf, said.
Events that bring people together and foster a sense of community are vital components of a healthy lifestyle, and indeed, there are studies that support this. It is for this reason that Door County Medical Center deploys its community benefit objectives to deliver the best outcomes in quality, service, finance, culture, and growth to the people of Door County.
“DCMC’s community benefit objectives are 1.) Improve access to health care services; 2.) Enhance the health of the community; 3.) Advance medical or health care knowledge; 4.) Relieve or reduce the burden of government or other community efforts,” Grohskopf continued.
The community benefit objectives are predicated on the belief that Door County community partnerships are necessary to build and sustain health. DCMC’s partnerships and programs focus on different populations targeted for health improvement including women and children, the elderly, the indigent, those with special needs, as well as people with cancer, or chronic disease.
