Walk showcases beautiful Door County homes and gardens.
The Garden Door 4312 Highway 42, Sturgeon Bay
The gardens began in 1996 when the Door County Master Gardener Association (DCMG) started construction in what is now known as The Garden Door. There are 20 specialized gardens with over 350 varieties of plants. In addition to the gardens there are 10 Special Features to experience; Entrance Arbor, Garden Kaleidoscope, and Gazebo are just a taste of what you can experience on your walk. Be sure to stop at the Human SunDial where you can check out what time it is.
Sunset Sanctuary 4191 Bay Shore Drive, Sturgeon Bay
Redeemed by Design: A Landscape Transformed: When we first stepped onto the property in 2000, it was overgrown and forgotten; the view of the water was barely visible. Over the next 25 years, we began a slow, intentional process of renewal. Inspired by coastal living, the design embraces openness and ease, blurring the line between inside and out in a way that feels both natural and refined. Nestled into a natural limestone pocket, the home is grounded by thoughtful stonework and warm, organic textures.
Parking on Bayshore Rd. on northbound side ONLY.
A Door County Cottage 5244 Bay Shore Drive, Sturgeon Bay
The Owners of this home purchased the 1940's cottage as a weekend respite and soon learned that they had a passion for design and antiques. Each room in the home is carefully curated with antiques based around Door County's fishing and wildlife culture and gorgeous landscape. The Potting Shed is a treat to visit, just like the home, it is full of antiques, art, and furniture, as well as a green and white checkerboard floor.
Hygge Home 7960 Deer Crest Court, Baileys Harbor
This modern, environmentally friendly home in Door County is designed to blend with its natural surroundings, aiming for net zero energy usage. The contemporary Scandinavian house style features approximately 2150 sq ft of conditioned space across two floors, built on a slab foundation. The exterior finishes feature horizontal coal colored siding and a Door County stone chimney.
Little Marsh 3264 Little Marsh Road, Fish Creek
This home is a "Low Country Farmhouse" style, built in 1995 and extensively remodeled starting in 2015. The design of the home combines rustic charm with modern comfort, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere. Positioned on top of a hill, this home looks out over 12 acres of meadow, restored prairie, marsh and the neighboring lavender field.
The common, private, single lane, winding road to the home is approximately 1/4 mile. It is paved. The driveway, paved also, is up hill to the house.
Freedom Too! 12331 S. Maplewood Lane, Ellison Bay
This unique waterfront home was built in 1958. It was restored and remodeled in 2016 as a family vacation home, and now is the year-round residence of the owners. Located down a private lane, this stone and cedar home sits on a wooded lot and looks out on the waters of Green Bay. It is truly a place to get away, to decompress, unwind and take a deep breath of "Freedom".
The common, private, single lane road to the home is again approximately 1/4 mile. The road is gravel. Trees and underbrush are right up to the edges of the road, both sides.
