Walk showcases beautiful Door County homes, gardens, and historic properties.
Two Sister's Lake Home 4186 Glidden Drive, Sturgeon Bay
Originally built by the owners' parents in 1980 as an eventual retirement home, this beautiful Lake Michigan shore home underwent a major renovation in 2022. This now 3,200 square foot home was thoughtfully re-built to retain the original house flow and charm, while expanding the living space to create two separate bedroom suites, one for each sister, and to update to more contemporary home features.
Danis Home 4844 Bark Road, Sturgeon Bay
This home exudes quintessential Door County Charm and originated as a rustic 1920s cabin that has been thoughtfully maintained with additions that were built above and around the original structure. Presently, the "cabin" has expanded to feature 6 bedrooms plus a lower-level bunk room, 4-1/2 bathrooms, a kitchen and dining room, as well as a living room and sunroom, all having majestic views of Lake Michigan.
Maiden's Light 2928 Valentine Lane, Ephraim
Maiden's Light, a 2,500 square foot family cottage situated on 2 acres, was completed in 2007, and is a tribute to the owners' Scandinavian heritage. The heart of the home is a log cabin that was discovered in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The old trapper's cabin was meticulously disassembled, transported to Ephraim, and incorporated into the newly constructed foundation and home that Jack Opitz and his crew built.
Bay Haven 10668 Westwood Drive, Sister Bay
Bay Haven is a traditional 5,400 square foot custom-built log home set on enchanting Little Brother Bay in Sister Bay. Originally a small log cabin, the home has been enlarged twice and was renovated in the last 2 years by Forestville Builders. The Swedish Room, a sunroom overlooking the water that is filled with family heirlooms collected on their travels to Sweden.
Rust Home 12495 Door Bluff Road, Ellison Bay
This 2,500 square foot residence built in 2022, is a modestly scaled and remote getaway for a painter and photographer. Nestled against a cedar grove at the end of a sweeping meadow, the home's primary bedroom suite and an office/guest suite comprise the east wing. The west wing consists of a studio/gallery and a screened-in porch.
