Patients of Door County Medical Center (DCMC) can now receive behavioral healthcare closer to home through a partnership with Psychiatric Medical Care's telehealth division, Integrated Telehealth Partners (ITP).
This new partnership will include outpatient services for referrals made by the DCMC staff and consultancy services for the DCMC emergency department.
Rosalyn Geier, DNP, PMHNP, will conduct the outpatient services for DCMC. Rosalyn is a board-certified nurse practitioner with over five years of experience. She has spent most of her career in behavioral health, focusing on helping adults navigate mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders, trauma history, and general mental health concerns of children and adolescents. Rosalyn is a collaborative, empathetic nurse practitioner who advocates for equality and compassion within the mental health field.
The ED consult services will provide 24/7 access to ITP's Psychiatrists and Psych Nurse Practitioners who are able to conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, treatment, and medication recommendations through on-demand telepsychiatry.
Christa Krause, Door County Medical Center’s Chief Nursing Officer, said, "Through the use of telehealth technology, our patients will have greater access to behavioral healthcare, allowing them to receive the help they need more quickly. We are excited about this new partnership with ITP and the benefit it brings to our local communities."
ITP's mission is to improve access to treatment and help their partner facilities see patients more efficiently in various locations. ITP, awarded Accreditation from The Joint Commission, provides improved access by connecting facilities to a trusted network of psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners who have extensive training and board certifications covering child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, substance abuse treatment, detox, and medication-assisted treatment for opioid addiction. ITP providers deliver real-time care leveraging top-of-the-line high-definition video and web conferencing tools. All patient interactions are secured and HIPAA compliant.
DCMC is an award-winning critical access hospital that provides expert care to their patients. Through their partnership with ITP, they are further expanding the exceptional service they bring to their community, continuing to improve the health and well-being of their community, especially those in need.
