Robyn Weilbaker, FNP-C Joins Washington Island Team

Since Fall 2019, Robyn Weilbaker, family nurse practitioner, serves as a full-time provider at Door County Medical Center’s (DCMC) Washington Island Clinic, alternating weeks with Dr. Beth Lux. Robyn’s role at the clinic is to help keep the community healthy with regular well visits and screening, visits for acute illnesses, and injuries like sprains and lacerations.

Give the Gift of Community Health

DCMC Foundation recently launched its Annual Appeal in support of The Door County Medical Center Dental Clinic, which cares for 5,000 community members who would otherwise not have access to dental care, a significant portion of whom are children. Other mission driven programs supported by DCMC Foundation include The Ministry Fund, The Healing Project, Skilled Nursing Facility and Hospice Care Capital Campaign, David Spude Cancer Center Fund and Memory Care.

DrFirst Text Notification Service

DCMC has partnered with our electronic prescribing provider, DrFirst, to send patients a text message 10 minutes after their clinician has submitted their prescription. This service applies to both new prescriptions and prescription refills, and is only applicable for patients 18 and over who have a text capable telephone number in Meditech registration.

Patients can opt-out of this free service at no additional cost.

Door County Medical Center Unveils One Of A Kind 3-Dimensional Commemorative Art to Celebrate 75th Anniversary

Door County Medical Center highlighted their 75th anniversary celebration on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 with the unveiling of 3-dimensional commemorative art piece created by Lawrence Romorini. President and CEO Brian Stephens presented this artistic reflection of DCMC’s history, people, growth and accomplishments, which is installed in the lobby of the hospital’s headquarters.

The free form design of the structures suggest water, the sun and the natural beauty of Door County. Three major structures, containing over 100 miniature photos, publications and actual 3D items, chronicle milestones since the hospital’s founding in 1944.

Door County Medical Center and Prevea Health To Provide Community Nurse Navigator and Education Roles At Algoma Wellness Center

Door County Medical Center (DCMC) and Prevea Health are teaming up to provide a Community Nurse Navigator and health programs, respectively, at the Algoma Wellness Center. Starting November 6, 2019, DCMC’s Kim Swiggum, RN and BSN Site Supervisor at the DCMC Algoma Clinic, will fill the Community Nurse Navigator role at Algoma Wellness Center on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Door County Medical Center (DCMC) has been awarded Wisconsin Rural Schools Alliance (WiRSA) 2019 Rural Community Partner Award. DCMC was nominated by Southern Door Schools Superintendent Patricia Vickman, with input from other local superintendents.

Sandy's Story

Door County Medical Center employee Sandy Sievert was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer in June 2013 at the age of 48. Her mother had passed away from breast cancer 40 years prior and with this health history in mind, had always scheduled regular mammograms.

“Be an advocate for yourself. Your insurance agency often dictates that you don’t need a mammogram, but it’s important for your peace of mind and to stay healthy,” says Sandy.
