As kids grow up, they tend toward less physical activity. In fact, one Washington State survey
found that while 80% of 6th
graders said they regularly took part in vigorous physical activity, that number fell to 65% in 12th
graders. Staying physically fit is always important at any age, but it is equally important that, as children become teenagers, they continue to remain active, building appropriate exercise habits as they go from middle school, to high school, and move into their adult lives.
