June 25, 2020. Sturgeon Bay, WI. Door County Medical Center recently revised their visitor restrictions to allow for more support to patients during their hospital visit or stay. However, the DCMC Pete and Jelaine Horton Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) continues to restrict all visitation. At this time only compassionate care visitation is permitted and this is allowed under the discretion of SNF Nursing Administration. Visitor restrictions are in place under the direction of the Department of Health Services and with guidance from the CDC. Visitors who are allowed to enter must follow visitation protocols which are explained on entry to the SNF including health screening and wearing personal protective equipment for the entire length of the visit. The visitor restriction policy has been in place since March and will continue for the foreseeable future to protect our most vulnerable population here within DCMC.
