On January 19, 2021, the State of Wisconsin approved Phase 1B of the COVID-19 distribution plan and announced that all individuals 65 years of age and older may begin receiving COVID-19 vaccinations as of January 25, 2021.
Door County residents who are 65 years of age and older should visit https://www.dcmedical.org/covid19 to fill out the online form. A Door County Medical Center representative will contact individuals to schedule the vaccination.
Door County Medical Center (DCMC) staff anticipate that many patients may require assistance in completing the online form. As DCMC prepares to meet anticipated high patient demand, we are requesting that patients use the online form to assist in scheduling the vaccine. If you require assistance in completing the form, please reach out to family members, friends, neighbors, and church resources to assist with completing the form. DCMC will be directing resources to set up and carry out the vaccines.
Based on guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) the initial phase of the COVID-19 vaccination (1A) was offered to healthcare personnel, residents of long-term care facilities and first responders.
The entire clinician team at Door County Medical Center is in full support of the vaccine, and is thrilled to expand its distribution and continue to fight the spread of COVID-19.
While the intention of the COVID-19 vaccine is to put an end to the pandemic, everyone in the community should continue to be aggressive about mask-wearing and social distancing because of the new virus variants.
Door County Medical Center will continue to share updates as The State of Wisconsin releases more guidance on the next phases of the COVID-19 distribution plan.
