Patient Financial Services at Door County Medical Center (DCMC) is aware our patients have different preferences for how they like to receive statements, payment reminders and even make payments.
We are excited to announce that in our continued partnership with RevSpring, DCMC is now offering a broad range of billing enhancements designed to personalize your payment experience and ensure every aspect of your billing experience is smooth, convenient and connected. Billing enhancements include payment options of-online, via phone, email or text as well as traditional printed statements delivered in the mail.
What is digital first billing?
Digital first billing is a new service allowing DCMC the opportunity to connect with our guarantors via text message (SMS) and/or email to provide notification that a new billing statement is available for viewing.
How does digital first billing work?

Guarantors will receive a text (SMS) and/or email from RevSpring alerting them a new billing statement is available for viewing. By clicking the secured link in the text message or "Access Your Account" button in the email message, they will be provided immediate access to their statement and account information in DCMC's PersonaPay payment portal.
There is the option to opt out of these digital first services for those who prefer to receive a traditional paper statement delivered in the mail. The first paper statement may be delayed following opt out and will not be considered as a late payment.
To opt out of these services and queue a paper statement to mail you will need to reply "STOP" to your text message. A confirmation message will be sent stating, "You have been unsubscribed. Please allow 24-48 hours for the change to take effect." For email messages, you will need to scroll to the bottom of the message, select "Unsubscribe" and follow the prompts. A confirmation email will be sent stating, "This email has been unsubscribed".
What are the benefits of digital first billing?
Digital first billing services empower our guarantors to receive communications and make payments in ways that are most convenient and consistent with their personal preferences. PersonaPay makes it painless to set up and manage electronic statement delivery, payment plans, card/banking, digital wallet information and payment preferences. Thanks to more sophisticated authentication methods, guarantors are empowered to do all this without the burden of remembering user names and passwords.
Will there still be paper billing?
Paper statements will still go out once you have opted out of the digital first billing services.
What billing services are on the horizon?
There are a couple of different offerings coming up. First, is outbound calls and text messages reminding you there is a balance due and payment has not been made. Text to pay will also be an additional feature and offer the capability to pay from the message via your digital wallet.
Also on the horizon, is a continuous "flow of information," with regard to how payments appear online. Currently, if you make a payment it takes 24 hours to post. In the future, as soon as you make that payment, your account will instantly reflect that payment.
Why all of these new features?
The most important thing that we want all of our patients to know is that medical bills don't need to be the terrifying thing that most people expect. If there is a bill that is beyond your means to pay right now, reach out to financial services and we can work together to come to a resolution. All of these new features are designed to make payments easier and to provide patients with more flexibility with regards to how they pay.
