DCMC has partnered with our electronic prescribing provider, DrFirst, to send patients a text message 10 minutes after their clinician has submitted their prescription. This service applies to both new prescriptions and prescription refills, and is only applicable for patients 18 and over who have a text capable telephone number in Meditech registration.
Patients can opt-out of this free service at no additional cost.
This added feature supports DCMC’s strategic plan to engage patients with digital technology, and has been proven to improve prescription compliance. It will also reduce the need for clinician staff to call patients to let them know that their prescription has been sent to the pharmacy.
