Door County Medical Center (DCMC) and Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative (CGHC) are pleased to announce that DCMC will continue to be an in-network provider for CGHC members in 2025. This agreement comes as a result of extensive community feedback and collaboration between both organizations.
The community's concerns and uncertainties regarding the potential discontinuation of this partnership have been heard and addressed. Both DCMC and CGHC are committed to ensuring that local residents have uninterrupted access to the award-winning healthcare services provided by DCMC.
Brian Stephens, DCMC CEO, emphasized the importance of this agreement: "The health insurance exchange is an important platform for our community, enabling those who are seasonally employed, self-employed and early retirees to obtain the health insurance coverage they need. This agreement between Door County Medical Center and Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative will ensure that our local residents have all the options available to them on the exchange and can continue to receive their care locally."
With this new agreement in place, CGHC members can continue to visit their preferred clinicians and facilities within the DCMC organization in 2025 without any disruption to their insurance coverage.
Cathy Mahaffey, CEO of Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative, shared her thoughts on the renewal of the contract: "CGHC and DCMC both recognize our importance to the Door County community, and we agreed that prioritizing the needs of our members and patients is essential. With this shared understanding, we were able to reach a mutually agreeable compromise so service to our members and patients will continue uninterrupted."
DCMC offers assistance with the enrollment process on healthcare.gov with Certified Application Counselors. Free workshops are available by appointment beginning November 1 through January 15th.
