The Ministry Fund Online Auction - October 4-5, 2023

The Door County Medical Center (DCMC) Ministry Fund was established in 1999 when DCMC merged with the Ministry Healthcare System. The Ministry Fund assists individuals and families by providing shelter, utilities, food, clothing, medications, medical care, transportation, and many other essential items and services.

The Challenges of Helping Those with Behavioral Health Issues

“Access to behavioral services in our community is a significant issue,” Door County Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Coordinator, Barb Johnson-Giese, said. An unfortunate reality for medical professionals in the Door County community and beyond is that physicians are increasingly pressured to diagnose and treat mental and behavioral health problems that they are often not adequately trained to diagnose or treat.

Katie Graf and The Ministry Fund: Serving Door County’s Vulnerable Populations for 22 Years

The Ministry Fund was founded in 1999 when Door County Medical Center affiliated with Ministry Health to become part of this Catholic healthcare system. The Ministry Fund helps support a wide range of financial needs, and the different needs that are funded are as unique and diverse as the many individuals to who require those funds.

The Door County Medical Center Auxiliary Needs your Help

The Angel Ball, hosted each December by the Auxiliary, is one of the two signature fund-raising events the Auxiliary holds each year.  “Unfortunately, we had to cancel this year’s Angel Ball due to our concerns for the health and welfare of the community during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Cheryl Wederquist, Auxiliary President Elect.

DCMC Dental Clinic Hosts Annual Tooth Fairy Fundraiser

DCMC Dental Clinic’s annual Tooth Fairy Fundraiser kicks off February 17-21 at DCMC’s Sturgeon Bay campus,11:30 am -1:00 pm. The sale will stay open throughout the month and folks may donate at any Door County Medical Center clinic. DCMC Dental Clinic serves Medicaid participants and low-income individuals with no dental insurance.

Auxiliary Volunteers Donate Funds to DCMC

Door County Medical Center Auxiliary provides opportunities for rewarding volunteer experiences at DCMC and organizes fundraising events to support the health care needs of our community. In 2019, the group raised over $400,000 for DCMC and donated the funds at their annual Auxilliary Christmas Luncheon.
